         The Mechanical Engineering is an unfading oldest branch in the field of engineering. It opens opportunities throughout the world. Industrial sectors like aviation, shipping, automobiles, thermal, gas, nuclear power plants, steel plants, cement plants, refrigeration and air conditioning etc., are very much in need of mechanical engineers for designing, analyzing, developing, testing, manufacturing, erection, operation, maintenance and quality control.

         Finally, where production/manufacturing takes place, there is inevitably a need of mechanical engineer. Most of the Indian universities are offering Graduate and Post Graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering and its allied branches.
         In the current scenario almost all industries are going for renovation through automation of their plants. In this situation, the role of mechanical engineer or the engineers of its allied branches like automobiles, industrial production, metallurgy, material science, aerospace engineering etc., has become uniquely important.

    * Place the workforce based on the nature of work
    * Adapt, optimize operating instructions, process flow charts, routings, process parameters and indicators.
    * Analyze the production process, point out structural problems and bottlenecks.
    * Work out suggestions for improvements and initiates their implementation.
    * Cooperate with the lined department such as Development, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain and Customer Support.
    Quality Control Engineer

    Analyze & arrive solutions to improve quality, reduce process lead times and delivery performances, at competitive cost.

    * Design the value streams to different departments in the engineering services/ divisions
    * See Unit level Quality Metrics and for Business analytics support to Management team.
    * Drive Kaizen implementation for cost saving and waste reduction.
    * Identify & implement the improvement projects - DIVE, Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) in project groups.
    * Identify improvement opportunities along with the respective process Heads and facilitate those Process improvements through Kaizen approach & Automation in the process.
    Maintenance Engineer
    Should be able to Perform

    Provide technical guidance for maintenance and reliability of the equipment and work processes

    * Create and edit simplified process flow diagrams or Equipment Control Develop equipment maintenance procedures and description manuals
    * Develop operating procedures and troubleshooting exercises
    * Assist in data gathering and draft review meetings
    * Deliver core training course at assigned locations
    * Monitor class quality and make recommendations for ongoing course improvement
    * Render technical advice on systems particular to maintenance courses

         Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines and found in virtually any manufacturing industry. It is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.

    It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It finds application in all fields of technology. It is one of the primitive branches of Engineering which have remained always in demand and continue to be in the future. This is why Mechanical trade is called as an Evergreen Branch. Applications of mechanical engineering are found in the records of many ancient and medieval societies throughout the globe. Their work criteria changes according to the type and domain of the company they are working with. As the Industrial sector has drastically risen in pace, the need for more mechanical engineers has increased exponentially.          The salaries vary from company to company and government to private. However the salary depends upon the capabilities and work expertise of the candidate. The starting salary varies from Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- per month which depend upon nature of the work.
