JusticeVijay Kumar Bist sworn in as Sikkim High Court chief justice.
Justice Vijai Kumar Bist  was a senior judge of the Uttarakhand High Court. He was made chief justice of Sikkim High Court on the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium.
He replaces Justice Satish Kumar Agnihotri, who superannuated on June 31, 2018.
He was born on 17 September 1957 at PowdiGarwal district in Uttarakhand

HDFC Bank announced that, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved re-appointment of AdityaPuri as managing director and CEO of the bank for another 2 years.
He joinedHDFC Bank in 1994. He is the longest-serving head of any private bank in India.

Senior IPS officer S SDeswal appointedIndo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) chief
S. SDeswal, a 1984-batch IPS officer of Haryana cadre.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Deswal’s appointment as the DG, ITBP for a period up to his superannuation on August 31, 2021, the order issued by the Personnel Ministry said.

 Justices Hemant Gupta, R. Subhash Reddy, M.R. Shah and Ajay Rastogi were sworn in as judges of the Supreme Court on 2nd November 2018.
46th Chief Justice of India, RanjanGogoi administered oath of office to the four judges.

Air Marshal MSG Menon, VSM takes over as Director General (Wks & Cer) of Indian Air Force
Previously, he was the Assistance Chief of Air Staff (AF Wks) at Air Headquarters. He is a Cat ‘AYE’ Air Traffic Controller.
He was a member of the first United Nations Mission to Sudan. He was Commandant of Air Force Administrative College, Coimbatore and Principal Director Ops (Air Traffic Services).
He served as Assistance Chief of Air Staff (Org & Ceremonial). He was awarded VishishtSeva Medal (VSM) in 2016.
He holds office for 7 years, and can be elected for a maximum of two terms.

Justice Ramesh Ranganathan appointed Chief Justice of Uttarakhand

Previously, he served as the senior-most judge of the Hyderabad High Court. He replaces Justice KM Joseph who was promoted to the Supreme Court.
Ramesh Ranganathan was born in Delhi on July 28, 1958.
He was a Government Pleader from 1996 to 2000.
He was Additional Advocate General from 2000 to 2004.

AtulGoel takes over as MD, CEO of UCO Bank
On 2nd November 2018, Atul Kumar Goel took charge as Managing Director and CEO of UCO Bank.
Earlier, He was executive director of Union Bank of India. He has replaced R.K. Takkar who completed his three-year term on November 1, 2018.
He started his carrier as Chartered Accountant in Allahabad Bank in 1992. He has worked in various segments like corporate credit, foreign exchange and treasury.

Bank of Maharashtra's board restored the functional responsibilities of MD and CEO R.P. Marathe and Executive Director R.K. Gupta.
MD and CEO R.P. Marathe and Executive Director R.K. Gupta were reinstated after the police decided to withdraw cases against them.
They were divested of their responsibilities in June after being arrested by the Pune Police in the alleged over Rs. 2,000 crore DSK Group fraud case.

GafurRakhimov, an Uzbek businessman, was elected president of International Boxing Association (AIBA), the amateur boxing federation.

Rahimov was awarded with the Honorary Order of the Olympic Council of Asia in 2003, after being a member of its Council since 1999.
In 2008, he also won the ANOC Merit Award for his involvement in the Olympic Family.

India elected as a Member of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Council
India has been elected as a Member of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Council for another 4-year term (2019-2022). The elections to the Council were held during the ongoing ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2018 at Dubai, UAE.
By securing 165 votes, India ranked third among the 13 countries elected to the Council from the Asia-Australasia region, and eighth among the 48 countries elected to the Councilglobally.The ITU has 193memberstates who elect representatives to the Council.

Citi’s Board of Directors announced that Chairman Michael O’Neill will retire on January 1, 2019 and the Board has selected John C. Dugan to succeed Mr. O’Neill as Chairman on that date.
Mr. O’Neill joined the Board in 2009 and has served as Citi’s Chairman since April 2012. Mr. Dugan joined the Board in October 2017.

Electric car pioneer Tesla named Robyn Denholm, chair of the company replacing Elon Musk.
Tesla named board director to replace Muski. Denholm , prior to this appointment was the chief financial officer with Telstra.She has been an independent director of Tesla since 2014 and heads its audit committee.
Pranoy Kumar Musahary sworn in as first Meghalaya Lokayukta chair
Justice Pranoy Kumar Musahary, who retired as a judge of the Gauhati High Court, was sworn in as the chairperson of Meghalaya's first Lokayukta.
Justice Musahary was administered the oath of office by state Governor Tathagata Roy at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan.

Lok Sabha Secretary General Snehlata Shrivastava gets one-year extension
The tenure of Snehlata Shrivastava, the first woman Secretary General of the Lok Sabha, has been extended by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan for one year.
The 1982-batch retired IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre Shrivastava was appointed last year in rank and status of a Cabinet Secretary was scheduled to retire on November 30.

Justice Govind Mathur takes oath as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court
Govind Mathur was administered the oath by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik. In 2004, Justice Govind Mathur was appointed as a judge in the Rajasthan High Court.
In 2017, he was transferred to the Allahabad High Court. He worked as University of Rajasthan’s standing counsel.

Athlete Hima Das appointed as first Youth Ambassador of UNICEF India
India’s ace sprinter and Asian Games gold-medallist sprinter Hima Das was appointed as first ever youth ambassador of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) India
She was the first Indian athlete to win gold medal in track event at IAAF World U20 Championships held in Tampere, Finland.
In 2018 Asian Games (Jakarta), she had won silver medal in 400 m final to win a silver medal.

Stephen Barclay, Junior Health Minister who voted to leave European Union in the 2016 referendum has been appointed as the new Brexit Secretary by British Prime Minister Theresa May.
Stephen Barclay replaced Dominic Raab who resigned over Theresa May’s draft plan for leaving EU.
Barclay will focus on domestic readiness for Brexit.

He replaced Karnit Flug, who became the first woman to hold the post when she took over in 2013.

Interpol elected South Korean Kim Jong-yang as next president
Interpol’s 94 member states elected South Korea’s Kim Jong-yang as Interpol’s next president in Dubai succeeding Meng Hongwei.
Prior to this, he had been serving as Interpol’s acting president since Meng resigned and was a vice-president representing Asia.
He defeated Russia’s candidate, Alexander Prokopchuk, for the post.

Millie Bobby Brown, actor of Netflix sci-fi drama ‘Stranger Things’ has been appointed as UNICEF’s latest Goodwill ambassador.

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) appoints Joyce Msuya as acting Executive Director
Erik Solheim resigned from the post of Executive Director of UNEP following an internal audit report that said he had gobbled up $500,000 in unnecessary and budgeted travel expenses in just 22 months.
Msuya previously worked with World Bank and she is consistently advocating for conservation of the planet.

Ezetap’s Abhijit Bose appointed as WhatsApp India head
 Face book Inc-owned messaging service WhatsApp on it has appointed Abhijit Bose as head of WhatsApp India, the local entity that is expected to begin operations next year amid calls to check the spread of fake messages.
 Bose, who was the co-founder and chief executive officer of enterprise payments solutions firm Ezetap, will be based in Gurugram, and join the messaging app in 2019. 

UNICEF appoints singer Nahid Afrin as first 'Youth Advocate' of north-eastern region
Popular Indian singer Nahid Afrin of Assam has been appointed as the first 'Youth Advocate' of the north-eastern region by the UNICEF to fight for child rights.
The UNICEF engages 'Youth Advocates' to harness their voice as agents of change in society.

State Bank of Mauritius appoints Sidharth Rath as MD of India operation
Before this Sidharth Rath was working with Axis Bank as Group Executive and Head of Corporate, Transaction banking and International banking.
SBM Bank (India) has been recently granted licence by the RBI to carry on business as a scheduled commercial bank under the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, with effect from 1st December.
It claims to be the first foreign bank to have been granted a universal banking liscence under RBI’s wholly-owned subsidiary scheme.
Currently SBM Bank has a total of four branches across Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ramachandrapuram.

Apollo Tyres ropes in Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador
Leading tyre maker Apollo Tyres has roped in the cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador for the period of 5 years. This is for the first time that the company has associated itself with a celebrity as the face of its brand.
Apollo Tyres also sponsors the English Premier League Club – Manchester United besides German football club Borussia Monchengladbach.
In Indian football leagues, the company is the principal sponsor of Chennaiyin Football Club of Indian Super League and title sponsor of Minerva Punjab Football Club of I-League.
Earlier Sachin Tendulkar was associated with Madras Rubber Factory (MRF) for over two decades which is now endorsed by Indian team Captain Virat Kohli.

Rahul Johri to continue as CEO of BCCI
The Committee of Administrators (CoA) appointed three-member probe panel cleared Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO Rahul Johri of allegations of sexual harassment, dismissing the charges levelled by two women as “mischievous and fabricated” and allowed him to resume duties.
The probe panel was headed by Justice (retd) Rakesh Sharma while former Delhi Commission of Women chairperson Barkha Singh and lawyer-activist Veena Gowda were its other members.
Currently the Supreme Court-appointed, Committee of Administrators (CoA) consists of the Chairman Vinod Rai and former Indian women’s team captain Diana Edulji.

Sunil Arora to be next Chief Election Commissioner 
President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Sunil Arora as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), who will assume charge effective December 2. He will succeed the current CEC Om Prakash Rawat.
Arora, a former 1980 IAS batch of Rajasthan cadre, was appointed as an Election Commissioner in September 2017.

Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) appoints Nageshwara Rao Guntur as it’s chief
Renowned scientist Nageshwara Rao Guntur has been appointed as chairperson of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) for three years.

IAS Officer, Ranbir Singh who had earlier served as the commissioner of East Delhi Municipal Corporation was appointed as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi.
Ranbir Singh will succeed Vijay Kumar Dev who had been appointed as the chief secretary of the Delhi Government.

Prithiviraj elected as President of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI)
J. Prithviraj who was Vice-President of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) for two years has been named as the New President of FMSCI after Akbar Ebrahim who led FMSCI for the last two years.
J. Prithviraj was representing Coimbatore Auto Sports Club before taking up the post.

Earl Eddings named Cricket Australia Board’s new chairman
Earl Eddings has been named as the new permanent Chairman of Cricket Australia (CA) following the resignation of David Peever amidst the mounting pressure and the Longstaff review.
Earl Eddings who previously player Grade Cricket was appointed as the Cricket Australia Director in 2008 and he will serve as chairman until next October’s annual meeting when a new candidate will be nominated for the post with the consultation with the state associations.
