Renowned Indian sand artist and Padma Awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik bagged the ‘People’s Choice Award’ at a prestigious sand sculpting festival in United State for his sand art on plastic pollution through his sand sculpture. He was among top 15 sand artists selected from all over world to participate in 2019 Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival held at Boston. Sudarsan Pattnaik was sole representative from India as well as Asia.

Two-time Olympic gold medal winning Hockey Player Keshav Dutt and former India Football Captain Prasun Banerjee selected for Mohun Bagan Ratna Awards 2019. Dutt has played as a half-back, as part of National hockey team that won gold medals in 1948 and 1952 Games. The former India Football Captain Prasun Banerjee played in 3 Asian Games in 1974, 1978 and 1982. Awards will be given away on annual celebration of Mohun Bagan Day (29th July). This is for the 1st time Mohun Bagan’s executive committee has decided to confer their highest honour to a non-footballer i.e. a sportsperson from other discipline.

Indian movie ‘Gully Boy’ was honoured with NETPAC (The Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema) Award for Best Asian Film at 23rd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in South Korea. The film released on 14th February, 2019, was directed by Zoya Akhtar, revolves around the underground rap movement in India. The Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema Award for Best Asian Film was created in 1990 as result of a conference on Asian cinema organized by Cinemaya in New Delhi at instance and with support of UNESCO, Paris.

US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) has selected MasterCard CEO, President Ajay Banga and Wipro Chairman Azim Premji for 2019 Global Excellence Awards. The two business leaders will receive this awards at USISPF’s 2nd Annual Leadership Summit scheduled to be held on 11 July in Washington.
