ISSF brings you ‘Athletes Handbook’
Quality guidance at a young age is the key to healthy growth in any sport. Keeping this in mind, the Athletes Committee of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), with the former World and Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra as the chairman, has brought out a comprehensive Athletes Handbook, for the benefit of shooters around the world.
The book in its digital form can be downloaded from the ISSF website.
The handbook answers 10 questions in each of the 11 chapters, addressing all aspects of the sport and beyond.

Gen Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army the Staff released the book 'Across the Bench - Insight into the Indian Military Judicial System' by Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan, former Army Commander and Member 'A', Armed Forces Tribunal, Lucknow Bench.
The book deals with military judicial system vis-a-vis command and management issues within the military establishments besides the whole gamut of issues relating to veterans, their families and dependents.

Wildlife photographer latika nath unveiled her book ‘hidden India’ to promote protection of India elephants
Wildlife photographer Latika Nath unveiled her book that has photographs of some of her closest wildlife encounters.
The book, titled 'Hidden India', is a coffee-table book and part of the proceeds from it will go to support the Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Centre to promote protection of India's elephants.
Nath is India's first female biologist with a doctorate on tigers and she was dubbed The Tiger Princess' by National Geographic.

Shri Ashwini Lohani launches “Guidebook for Creating a Child Friendly and Protective Environment for Children in Contact with Railways’
A “Guidebook for Creating a Child Friendly and Protective Environment for Children in Contact with Railways’, developed by National Commission for protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with Railway Children India, was launched at an event held at the Habitat World. The document will serve as a framework to develop child friendly environment at all Railway Stations.
In the same event, Information Education Communication (IEC) Materials on child protection for children in contact with Indian Railways developed by NCPCR in consultation with Indian Railways and those developed by “Save the Children” were also launched to create awareness/alertness among the people and stakeholders.
Shri Ashwini Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board, emphasised that the issue of care and protection of distressed children needs to be handled with sensitivity. There is an urgent need to create mass awareness about this issue.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu informed that there was a need to build awareness about the importance of a self-sustaining system of waste disposal and minimizing waste production.
Bhargava for choosing the subjects related to cleanliness at an appropriate time. It is apt that the author has chosen these subjects at an appropriate time when India is journeying through a phase of growth and development.

Vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu released a book titled ‘ Straight Talk’
Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu released Congress leader and Supreme Court advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi's book, Straight Talk. This book has been authored by Abhishek Manu Singhvi (member of Rajya Sabha).
‘Straight Talk’ is a compilation of articles written by Mr. Singhvi, over the last five years, on a host of issues.
‘Straight Talk’ is a compilation of sixty-three of Singhvi’s articles categorized in seven chapters ranging from governance, society, terrorism and the Judiciary to the media, nuclear trends and icons and heroes.
