Spider - Man, Iron Man co-creator Stan Lee died of cardiac arrest
Marvel Comics Legend, Stan Lee who revolutionized the Comics industry in 1960s died due to heart and respiratory failure
He was the co-creator of one the most popular comic characters Spider-Man, Iron Men, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Ant Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Black Panther and Daredevil.

Former 41st US President George HW Bush passes away
He was the 41st president of the United States and had been in leadership during the end of the Cold War.
George H.W. Bush also routed Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army but lost a chance for a second term after breaking a no-new-taxes pledge.

Noted agriculturalist Jayaraman passes away
Agriculturalist Jayaraman pioneered the protection and propagation of indigenous paddy varieties in Tamilnadu, passed away in Chennai.
Hailing from Thiruthuraipoondi, in the heart of Tamil Nadu’s delta rice bowl, Jayaraman has been credited with documenting and protecting more than 170 paddy varieties.
His diligent work in the field of protecting the gene prototypes of indigenous paddy varieties won him the National Award for best genome saviour in 2015 and a Best organic farmer award of Tamil Nadu government in 2011.
He also has written several books including Nellathikaram and Mamarunthagum Parampariya Nel.
He also launched ''Save Our Rice'' campaign and organised paddy festival at his native village Adirangam in Tiruvarur district in 2005.

Seven time National Champion and first swimmer to win Arjuna Award from Bengal Arun Kumar shaw passed away.
He won the Arjuna Award in 1967.
He won National championship in 1959, 1962, 1964, 1965-67 and worked as National selector for several years.

Senior Congress MP and Noted Islamic Scholar Mohammad AsrarulHaque passed away
He was the state president of JamiatUlema-e-Hind, a leading Islamic organisation in India.
 He was also a member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and the president of All India Milli Council.
Earlier, he had contested from Bihar’s Kishanganj constituency in 2009 and 2014 general elections.

Ex-Soviet Dissident Lyudmila Alexeyeva passes away
Leading Russian rights activist and former Soviet dissident Lyudmila Alexeyeva passed away.
Alexeyeva had been the leader of the Moscow Helsinki Group, one of Russia’s oldest human rights organisations which she helped found in 1976.
Alexeyeva tirelessly defended human rights from the 1950s in the Soviet Union and continued to do so up to recent years under strongman leader Vladimir Putin.

‘Marketing Superstar’ Nabankur Gupta passes away
70 years old Veteran Marketing Industry Expert, Nebankur Gupta popularly known as ‘Nobby’  who had served as at several companies including Raymond, Videocon Industries and Philips died following a brief illness.
Nebankur Gupta had a rich experience of over 3 decades in marketing, Project Management and Business Strategy.
He was the first Indian to receive the title of “Marketing Superstar” by Advertising Age International, New York in 1995.

He became president in 1982, after failing 3 times for the presidential election, and governed till 1986.
He was the first president under whom the rebel groups, that emerged in the 1960s, signed a peace agreement.

Padma Shri Historian Mushirul Hasan Passes Away
Professor Mushirul Hasan, a renowned historian, and former vice-chancellor Jamia Millia of Islamia, passed away. Hasan was also formerly the director general of the National Archives of India.
Hasan won a number of awards for his work, including the Padma Shri in 2007 and the Ordre des Palmes Académiques.
The books he authored include India Partition: The Other Face of Freedom, When Stone Walls Cry, Partners in Freedom: Jamia Millia Islamia (co-authored with Rakshanda Jalil) and From Pluralism to Separatism: Qasbas in Colonial India.

Senior Congress leader and former Kerala minister CN Balakrishnan passed away in Kochi due to pneumonia. 
He was the Thrissur district Congress committee president for 17 years and the state unit treasurer.
In 2011, he became the state Cooperation Minister in the Oommen Chandy cabinet.

Grammy award-winning jazz singer Nancy Wilson dies after battling a long illness
Nancy Wilson , three times Grammy award winner jazz singer who called herself a ''song-stylist'' has died after a long illness at her home in Pioneer town, California.
Nancy Wilson was best known for songs ''Guess Who I Saw Today'' and the 1964 hit ''(You Don’t Know) How Glad I Am''.
She made her debut with her 1961’s single, ''Guess Who I Saw Today''.
''How Glad I Am'' brought her a Grammy in 1965, She won her second Grammy for best jazz vocal album in 2005 for the intimate ''R.S.V.P. (Rare Songs, Very Personal)'' and in 2007 for “Turned to Blue,” a showcase for the relaxed, confident swing. The National Endowment for the Arts awarded her a ''Jazz Masters Fellowship'' in 2004 for lifetime.

Oscar-nominated Hollywood Actress,Tennessee native Sondra Locke dies
Actress and director Sondra Locke, a Tennessee native nominated for an Academy Award for her first film role in 1968's "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" and who went on to co-star in six films with Clint Eastwood.
Locke was best known for the six films she made with Eastwood - whom she dated for 13 years - starting with the Western "The Outlaw Josey Wales" in 1976 and ending with the Dirty Harry movie "Sudden Impact" in 1983.

National award winning Malayalam film director Thoppil Ajayan, passes away
Thoppil Ajayan’s film “Perumthachan” (The Master Carpenter), fetched him the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director and Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director in 1990.
He had also won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Popular Film in 1990 and was nominated for the Golden Leopard award at the Locarno International Film Festival in 1992.
He was the eldest son of legendary playwright and writer Thoppil Bhasi.

Filmmaker Tulsi Ramsay passes away due to chest pain
He was known for directing cult horror films like ‘Veerana’, ‘Purani Haveli’ and ‘Bandh Drawaza.
The other Six are Kumar Ramsay, Shyam Ramsay, Keshu Ramsay, Arjun Ramsay, Gangu Ramsay, and Kiran Ramsay.
He also directed films like Do Gaz Zameen Ke Niche, Hotel, Purana Mandir, and the popular ’90s TV series, Zee Horror Show.
He ran a production company, Tulsi Ramsay Production located at Andheri in Mumbai.

A legendary classical singer Pandit Arun Bhaduri passed away in Kolkotta due to his pro-longed illness.
Pandit Bhaduri, a well known and one of the masters of Bengali songs and Bhajans.
In 2014, he had conferred Bangabibhusan award.

Former Nepal Prime Minister Tulsi Giri passes away
Tulsi Giri, Nepal's two-time prime minister and senior politician, passed away.He was 93.
He died, after a prolonged battle with liver cancer, at his home in Budhanilkanta, on the outskirts of the Himalayan nation's capital.

Noted Tamil writer and Sahitya Akademi award winner Prabhanjan passes away due to Cancer in Puducherry.
Prabhanjan (given name S. Vaidyalingam) started his career as a Tamil teacher.
He got Sahitya Akademi Award for his historic novel “Vaanam Vasapadum” in 1995.

‘Nightingale of Assam’ singer Dipali Borthakur passes away
Dipali Borthakur was a Padma Shri recipient in 1998 and was also known as ''Asomiya Lata Mangeskar''.
She was honoured with The Axom Srestho by The Telegraph, Silipi Bota (2010) and Aideu Handique Silpi Award (2012) among others.

Former Union Minister Jai Narain Prasad Nishad passes away in New Delhi
Former Union Minister, Captain Jai Narain Prasad Nishad died in Delhi after a prolonged illness.
Jai Narain Prasad Nishad was a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Muzaffarpur constituency in Bihar.
He served as the Union Minister of state, Environment and Forests (Independent Charge) during 1996-97.

Rabindra sangeet exponent Dwijen Mukhopadhyay passes away in West Bengal
Veteran Rabindra Sangeet singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay died at his residence in Salt Lake, West Bengal following various age-related ailments.
Dwijen Mukhopadhyay was known for his rendition of ‘Jagoo Durga’ on All India Radio and he was honoured with Padma Bhushan and Banga Bibhusan.
He was born in 1927 and recorded over 1000 songs of Tagore during his lifetime.
Former Mumbai Mayor and Padma Shri Nana Chudasama passes away in Maharashtra
Former Mumbai Mayor and a 2005 Padma Shri awardee Nana Chudasama died after a brief illness in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Born in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, Nana Chudasama, a jurist and a social worker.
He was the founder of non-governmental organizations Giants International, I Love Mumbai, National Kidney Foundation, and Forum against Drugs and AIDS.
Chudasama was also known for putting up banners in Mumbai’s Marine Drive area for decades carrying expressive messages about national and international stories of importance.

Veteran CPI (M) leader Nirupam Sen passes away in West Bengal
Veteran leader of CPI (M) (The Communist Party of India (Marxist)), Shri Nirupam Sen who had served as the Commerce and industry minister of West Bengal passed away in Kolkata, West Bengal following a cardiac arrest.
Nirupam Sen is credited as the architect of West Bengal’s Industrial drive during the Left Front rule.
He was a three-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bardhaman Dakshin Constinuency of West Bengal.

Padma Shri Awardee Sulagitti Narasamma Passes Away
Social worker and Padma Shri awardee Sulagitti Narasamma passed away in Bengaluru.
Narasamma had helped deliver more than 15,000 babies, free of charge, in Krishnapura, a remote village in Pavagada Taluk in Karnataka.

Bengali poet Nirendranath Chakraborty passes away in West Bengal
Famous Bengali poet Nirendranath Chakraborty died following a cardiac arrest in Kolkata, West Bengal.
His first book of poems ‘Nil Nirjone’ was published in 1954.
He won the Sahitya Akademi award in 1974 for his poem ‘Ulanga Raja’ (naked king).
He was also a recipient of ‘Ananda Purashkar’ and was the president of Paschimbango Bangla Akademi.
He was also conferred with the Bangobibhusan honour in 2017 by West Bengal government.
Amalkanti Roddur Hote Cheyechhilo’ (Ammalkanto wanted to be the sunshine), ‘Kolkatar Jishu’ (Christ of Kolkata) and ‘Pahari Bichhe’ (Mountain scorpion) are considered his two other cult poems.

Dr. Jiko Luveni, the first female speaker of Fiji’s Parliament passes away
Luveni first served for eight years as minister for women, social welfare and poverty alleviation in the interim government of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, who seized power in a 2006 coup.

Former Kashmir University (KU) Vice Chancellor (VC) and Padma Shri awardee Professor Hamidi Kashmiri passed away at his residence in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
He was the reciepient of Ghalib Award, Sahitya Akademi in 2005 and Padma Shri in 2010.
He was a writer, educationalist and poet who had written 50 books.

Oscar and Grammy - winning lyricist Norman Gimbel passes away
He was best known for writing the lyrics of “Killing Me Softly With His Song” and “The Girl From Ipanema”.
The Brooklyn native wrote the words to both "The girl from Ipanema" and the "Happy days" theme, earning an Academy Award with David Shire for Jennifer Warnes.
"It goes like it goes" is the Best Original Song winner for 1979's "Norma rae". 
He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984.

Contemporary of Satyajit Ray and legendary filmmaker and Phalke awardee, Mrinal Sen, passes away
Mrinal Sen was a National Award-winning director and recipient of Padma Bhusan award.
He has also been conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2003.
He was a contemporary to famous directors like Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak.
Mrinal Sen made his first feature film, Raat Bhore, in 1955.
