Rahul Dravid becomes the fifth Indian to be inducted into ICC's Hall of Fame
Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid and Australian legend Ricky Ponting have been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame for their stupendous achievements in international cricket. Dravid is the fifth Indian player to be named in ICC Hall of Fame.
Along with Dravid and Ponting, retired England woman wicketkeeper-batter Claire Taylor was also named in the 'Hall of Fame' during a ceremony in Dublin.

Rahul Major General VD Dogra becomes first serving Indian Army officer to complete Ironman competition
Major General VD Dogra became the first serving Indian Army officer to complete an Ironman triathlon. General Dogra achieved this feat in Austria and is also the only general across the globe to have completed the gruelling competition in Austria. The Ironman is an international triathlon consisting of three consecutive events - 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km of running.
The competitors have to complete the event within 17 hours to earn the title. Major Dogra finished the challenge in just 14 hours and 21 minutes. The competition is considered as the toughest one-day sporting event and was held in Austria’s Klagenfurt. More than 3000 participated in the event.

Mark Zuckerberg Tops Warren Buffett to Become the World’s Third-Richest Person
Facebook Inc. co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has overtaken Warren Buffett as the world’s third-richest person, further solidifying technology as the most robust creator of wealth.
Zuckerberg, who trails only Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos and Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, eclipsed Buffett as Facebook shares climbed 2.4 per cent.
It’s the first time that the three wealthiest people on the ranking made their fortunes from technology. Zuckerberg, 34, is now worth $81.6 billion, about $373 million more than Buffett, the 87-year-old chairman and chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

Brexit Secretary David Davis resigns
David Davis resigned as Brexit secretary. David Davis declared that he could not support British Prime Minister Theresa May’s deal to unite her divided cabinet.
He involved a very close relationship with the European Union and only provided an illusion of control being returned to the UK after Brexit.
Dominic Raab, a junior minister for housing policy, has been named Brexit Secretary, to replace David Davis.

Indian Satyarup Siddhanta scales world's highest volcano
Satyarup Siddhanta has become the second Indian mountaineer after Malli Mastan Babu to climb Mt Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano in the world.
Ojos del Salado is a stratovolcano (a volcano built up of alternate layers of lava and ash)in the Andes on the Argentina-Chile border and the highest active volcano in the world at 6,893 metres (22,615 ft).
Satyarup is also set to be the first Indian to climb Mt Sidley, the highest volcano of Antarctica, which will help him realise the dream of scaling seven summits and seven volcanic summits.

PM Modi third most followed world leader on Twitter, Sushma Swaraj most popular among women leaders
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the third most followed world leader on Twitter with 42 million followers on his personal account @NarendraModi, according to a study on ‘world leaders on social media’ conducted by communications firm Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW).
External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, Most followed female world leader, Most followed female world leader Sushma Swaraj.
Narendra Modi is the third most followed world leader, while Sushma Swaraj stands at eighth position.

Dipa Karmakar likely to be named Tripura's brand ambassador
Tripura state committee proposed the government to appoint gold medal winner in the prestigious FIG World Challenge Cup in Mersin in Turkey Dipa Karmakar, as brand ambassador of the state.
The 24-year-old Dipa had finished fourth in Rio Olympics in 2016 but her success in Mersin once again illuminated the name of Tripura across the globe by her hard work and sheer commitment.

Mukesh Ambani Dethrones Alibaba's Jack Ma, Becomes Asia's Richest Person With Net Worth Of $44.3 Billion
Billionaire Mukesh Ambani has overtaken Alibaba Group founder Jack Ma to become Asia's richest person as he positions Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) to disrupt the e-commerce space in India.
According to a report by Bloomberg, Ambani was estimated to be worth $44.3 billion with Reliance Industries rising 1.6 per cent to a record Rs 1,099.8. Jack Ma’s wealth stood at $44 billion at the close of trade in the US, where the company is listed.

Haryana Governor gets additional charge of Himachal Pradesh
Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki was given the additional charge of Himachal Pradesh by President Ram Nath Kovind.
Solanki would discharge the functions of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, in addition to his own duties during the absence of Himachal Governor Acharya Devvrat, who is on leave.

Hima Das to be Assam’s first ever sports ambassador, confirms CM Sarbananda Sonowal
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has confirmed that Indian Athlete Hima Das will be named as the first sports ambassador of the state.
The announcement came after Hima Das recently became the first Indian woman to win gold at IAAF World U-20 Athletics Championships.
The 18-year-old made the country proud as she scripted history by clinching the top spot in the women’s 400 m final race at the Championships which was held in France.

Haryana teen Shivangi Pathak scales Mount Kilimanjaro
Shivangi Pathak, who became the youngest Indian woman to reach the peak of Mount Everest, has added another feather to her cap by scaling Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. The 17-year-old from Haryana's Hisar city, who was scaled the peak in three days.
Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro measures 5,895 meters in height. The Haryana teen, who acknowledged the endless support of her parents and family in her journey, aims to be an inspiration to girls all over India to relentlessly pursue their passion.

Renu Satti steps down as Paytm Payments Bank CEO, named COO of new retail initiative
Paytm Payments Bank CEO Renu Satti has resigned from the role and will now head Paytm's new retail initiative.
Paytm will look for a replacement for Satti, who had taken over the CEO role last year.
Renu Satti will be leading the charge as COO of this new (retail) initiative. She has already resigned from Paytm Payments Bank CEO position and the Bank will soon be recruiting a new CEO.
