Lucknow to host 1st international cricket match after 24 years
Uttar Pradesh's capital city Lucknow is set to host its first international match in 24 years after the BCCI announced that the Indian cricket team will face the Windies in a T20I match on November 6. The Windies' tour of India, which consists of two Tests, five ODIs, and three T20Is begins on October 4.

Bengaluru International Airport first in country to roll out facial recognition facility from 2019
Bengaluru International Airport it plans to roll out facial recognition facility for the passengers of some select airlines from early next year as it seeks to make the boarding process paperless.
The private airport operator has inked a pact with the Lisbon-based digital and biometric solutions services provider Vision-Box to implement the technology, Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) release.
The introduction of biometric self-boarding technology is aimed at transforming passenger experience and creating a future-ready airport, adding the move will also bolster government's proposed DigiYatra project.

Hazratganj crossing will be renamed Atal Chauraha
As a tribute to former prime minister and Lucknow MP Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Hazratganj crossing in the heart of the city will be named after him.
The close association of the leader with the city will be immortalised with the name Atal Chauraha.
As Hazratgnj crossing is the busiest and the most important intersection of the city it was decided unanimously by all the executive body member it renamed it ‘Atal Chauraha’ as a tribute.

Bengaluru to host Aero India 2019
Amid debates over a change in venue, the Ministry of Defence has announced that Aero India 2019 will be held in Bengaluru itself in February 2019.
The five-day event will combine a major trade exhibition for the aerospace and defence industries with public air shows. Besides global leaders and big investors in the aerospace industry, the show will also see participation by think-tanks from across the world and will provide an opportunity for the exchange of information, ideas and new developments in the aviation industry. Besides giving a fillip to the domestic aviation industry, it would further the cause of 'Make in India'.
Over the past few months, reports were rife that the venue for the biennial air show may be shifted to Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow.

Vijayawada to host TERI meet on livable cities
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is organising its southern Regional Policy Dialogue (RPD) on ‘making livable cities’ in Vijayawada in September in association with the Royal Embassy of Denmark in India and International Urban Cooperation/ Global Compact of Mayors.
Experts from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Pondicherry and Chhattisgarh will be taking part in the event.
Through a communication to the Special Chief Secretary to CM, Satish Chandra, TERI director general Ajay Mathur invited N. Chandrababu Naidu to give the inaugural address.

Indo-Bhutan Border Centre inaugurated by CM of Assam in Baksa, Assam
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the Indo-Bhutan Border Centre at Darranga in Assam's Baksa district to strengthen bilateral trade with the neighbouring country.
The inauguration of the trade centre is a spontaneous response of the people of Assam, specially the people residing in the four BTAD districts of Baksa, Udalguri, Chirang and Kokrajhar.
The Centre has decided to construct 264 km of border roads touching four BTAD districts of the state.

India gets its first ever dedicated dog park in Hyderabad
The park houses dog training equipment play equipment, splash pool, fountain, areas for exercise, amphitheater, lawns, separate kennels for small and big dogs and a dedicated dog clinic.
The park was initially a dump yard at Kondapur.

Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurates ISRO’s Technology Incubation Centre in Agartala
The ISRO Technology Incubation Centre was launched in Agartala, jointly by K.V. Sivan, Chairman, ISRO and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
ISRO Space Technology Incubation Centre is located at National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Agartala.

Newly-built Jharsuguda airport to be renamed after noted freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai: Odisha Assembly
The state assembly of Odisha passed a unanimous resolution to name the newly-built Jharsuguda airport after noted freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai.

First Smart City Expo India-2018 inaugurated in Jaipur by Vice President
Vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated Smart City Expo India-2018 in Jaipur.
The object of this three days long expo is to have discussions among different experts and groups to utilize benefits of new technology, town planning, capacity management, challenges before socio-economic development and development of networking in the Smart City sector.
