SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket which carrying 24 satellites as part of the Department of Defense's Space Test Program-2 (STP-2) mission launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The satellites include four NASA technology and science payloads that will study non-toxic spacecraft fuel, deep space navigation, "bubbles" in the electrically-charged layers of Earth's upper atmosphere, and radiation protection for satellites. The new Deep Space Atomic Clock will be used to navigate distant planets like Mars. A huge improvement would be made in the spacecraft navigation. It is a space-ready upgrade to the atomic clocks which is used on Earth and to the clocks that already fly on satellites like those that provide GPS.
