International Dance Day
As a global day to celebrate dance, every year 29 April is observed as International Dance Day. On that day to encourage participation and education in dance events and festivals are held. International Dance Day objective is to aim to increase awareness about importance of dance among general public and also to persuade governments across nation to include dance in education system. 

April 25

World Intellectual Property Dayo
World Intellectual Property Day is being observed across the globe on 26th April every year. 
The event was established by the World Intellectual property organisation in 2000 to raise awareness of how patents,  copyright,  trademarks  and  designs impact on daily life across the globe. 
It aims to increase awareness and understanding of intellectual property law and to encourage the creation of a large variety of intellectual goods for consumers. The theme of World Intellectual Property Day 2019 is Reach for Gold: IP and Sports. 

April 23

English Language Day is observed on 23rd April every year.
The date traditionally observed as both the birthday and the death day of William Shakespeare.
The English Language Day was the result of a 2010 initiative by the UN -the Department of Public Information.
The purpose of the UN’s language days is to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six official languages throughout the Organization.
The six languages are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

April 22

Earth Day is observed on 22nd April, every year
This year marks the 49th annual Earth Day with the theme Protect Our Species.
The theme Protect Our Species as human beings have irrevocably upset the balance of nature this Earth Day aims to highlight that nature’s gifts to our planet are the millions of species and human beings have irrevocably upset the balance of nature.
Earth Day was formally proposed by John McConnell at UNESCO conference on Environment in 1969.
Later in 1971, a proclamation was signed to observe International Earth Day annually on the Vernal Equinox by UN Secretary-General U Thant.
It was first celebrated in 1977, April 22nd; it is celebrated every year in more than 193 countries.

April 21

National Civil Services Day is celebrated Every year on April 21
In India the National Civil Services Day (NCSD) is organized by civil servants to rededicate themselves to the cause of citizen and renew their commitment to public service and excellence in work.
To commemorate that day on which the first Home Minister of Independent India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, addressed the probationers of Administrative Services Officers in 1947 at Metcalf House, Delhi, where he referred to civil servants as the steel frame of India.
Due to general elections in the country this day is not been observed this year.

April 18

World Heritage Day is observed on 18th April, each year
The day is celebrated every year to promote the cultural heritage across the world. The theme of this year is Rural Landscapes.
This was proposed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) on 18 April 1982 and approved by the 22nd General Assembly of UNESCO in 1983.

April 10

Its World Homoeopathy Day 2019 on April 10, 2019
The World Homoeopathy Day 2019 is observed across the world on April 10, 2019

It is to commemorate,263rd birth anniversary of founder of Homoeopathy Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann.

The week, that is, 10 April - 16 April is observed as the World Homeopathic Awareness Week.
Homeopathy as system of medicine was developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in Germany in 1796.
It is world’s second most widely used system of treatment.

April 7

The National Handloom Day is observed on 7th August every year across India.
It is a celebration of the country’s 5,000-year old tradition of hand weaving cloths.
On this occasion, a book named ‘The Indian textile Sourcebook’ authored by Avalon Fotheringham and published by Thames and Hudson will be launched on 9th April.
In 2018, the National Handloom Week was observed during December month.
It was on this day that the Swadeshi Movement was launched in 1905. The First National handloom day was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on August 7, 2015 in Chennai.

April 5

April 5th every year is National Maritime Day.
On April 5 every year National Maritime Day in India is celebrated The day is being observed since 1964.
Hundred years ago, on this day in 1919, navigation history was created when SS Loyalty, the first ship of The Scindia
It marked a red letter day in the maritime history of India. 
The Varuna Award, will also be given for outstanding contribution to Indian Maritime Sector
The theme of the 56th edition of the National Maritime Day is “Indian Ocean-An Ocean of opportunity”.

On 2nd April of 2019 is International World Autism Awareness Day
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) designated 2nd April as World Autism Awareness Day.
This is aimed to encourage member states of the United Nations to take measures to raise awareness about people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) throughout the world.
The theme for 2019 is "Assistive Technologies, Active Participation".

Odisha celebrates 84th foundation day on 1st April
Odisha is celebrating 84 years of its foundation on 1st April 2019. The day is also known as ‘Utkal Divas.
To commemorate the sacrifices of people for the formation of Odisha province in 1936.
Odisha was the first State to be formed on linguistic basis in 1936. Earlier, Odisha was part of Bihar.
