June 30

June 30th every year is celebrated across the world as International Day of Parliamentarism. It marks the day of establishment the global organization of parliaments in 1889. The Day celebrates parliaments and ways in which parliamentary systems of government improve everyday lives of people throughout the world. It is also an opportunity for parliaments to identify challenges, and stock ways to address them effectively. 

June 8

The World Oceans Day (WOD) is observed every year on June 8 to celebrate the majesty of the world's oceans and raise awareness about their preservation Oceans are important for mankind because they generate an estimated 70% of the earth's oxygen. They regulate the globe's climate and weather. They support marine life. The 2019 conservation action theme “Gender and Oceans” reflects on equalizing the representation of women and men in marine fields. It highlights the important role gender equality has to play in ensuring effective conservation of our oceans, seas and marine life. The focus of the day is on the world wide fight against the plastic pollution.

June 7

The World Food Safety Day 2019 was observed on 7 June with the theme - ‘Food Safety, everyone’s business'. It was first ever World Food Safety Day to be observed. With World Food Safety Day, WHO pursues its efforts of mainstreaming food safety in public agenda and reducing burden of food borne diseases.

In France, drawing to a close two days of commemorations hundreds of veterans have gathered to honour the sacrifice of those who died in the D-Day landings (in the Second World War on which Allied forces invaded northern France by means of beach landings in Normandy).

Every year World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June. It is celebrated to raise awareness globally about environmental issues and action. The day was first celebrated in 1974, and since then it is widely celebrated in more than 100 countries and continues to grow to become a global platform for public outreach. The day is organized with an annual theme to draw attention towards pressing environmental issues.

Every year, June 4th is observed as The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression and the U N affirms its commitment to protect the rights of children. This is to acknowledge the pain suffered by children worldwide, who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse.

June 3

The 2nd edition of World Bicycle Day (WBD-2019) is observed by United Nations (UN) on 3rd June to encourage a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation. The bicycle a symbol of sustainable transportation and conveys a positive message to foster sustainable consumption and production and has positive impact on life. The day is now being associated with promoting a healthy lifestyle for those with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

June 1

World Milk Day is observed on June 1st of every year. It is an international day established by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations to recognize the importance of milk as a global food. It has been observed on June 1 since 2001.
