Union Minister for Textiles Kavuri Sambasiva Rao said that Andhra Pradesh state government has decided to set up a handloom in Machilipatnam, Krishna district.
* The All India Handloom Technology Institute would be set up with a project cost of Rs. 35 crore.

Taking a step towards achieving the target of 350 services under Mee Seva, Central Power Distribution Corporation (CPDC) launched 11 new services in Ananthapur, Medak, Mahaboobnagar, Kurnool and Nalgonda districts of Andhra Pradesh.
The Services are:
* New Connection Domestic; New Connection General Purpose; New Name Change; Load Change; Category Change; New Connection-6A Street Lights; New Connection-6B-Public Water Works; New Connection Commercial; New Connection Commercial Hoardings; New Connection Agriculture Services and New Connection Religious Places are now available for service through MeeSeva kiosks in above five districts at their nearest MeeSeva Center.

AU Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju received the Mother Teresa international award from former Governor of West Bengal Justice Shyamal Sen at a programme organised in Kolkota.
* Prof. Raju was presented the award in recognition of his services to the field of education.

As per the latest statistics released by the Reserve Bank of India, Andhra Pradesh has been indebted a huge sum of Rs. 1.94 Lakh Crores, whereas the population of the state is 8.46 Crores. Based on these statistics, if we share the debt amount per each individual in the state, it turns to be Rs. 22,938. As compared to previous accounting year 2012-13, the debts pertaining to Andhra Pradesh have been on a rise by Rs. 0.25 lakh in 2013-14. As per these statistics, Andhra Pradesh attains the fourth rank among the debt burdened states in the country. Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are placed in the first three positions, respectively.
