October 1

Andhra Pradesh CM to launch Janmabhoomi programme in Vijayawada.
* The 'Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru' programme will take off on October 2 with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself reaching out to the masses to know their problems and take necessary remedial action.
* Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said the revised pension scheme named as ‘NTR Bharosa’ was his first step in the war against poverty. It would be initially paid in cash and subsequently credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries.
* The government was bracing for the 24X7 power supply which was one of its main election promises and it duly prioritized completion of irrigation projects.

October 8

‘Hudhud’ to cross Andhra on October 12.
* The MeT department said Cyclone ‘Hudhud’ has moved closer to the cost of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh and will turn into a severe cyclonic storm in next 12 hours.
* The MeT has issued a heavy rainfall warning for north Andhra Pradesh coast and south Odisha.
* According to the MeT department, squally wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph would commence along and off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts from the morning of October 11. The wind speed would increase to 130-140 kmph gusting to 150 kmph from October 12.

October 11

Postal e-commerce to begin in AP, Telangana from March.
* The postal department is planning to enter e-commerce from March next along with launching several other new services to give a further push to its revenues in Andhra Pradesh Circle comprising AP and Telangana States.
* Other services in the pipeline include sale of RTC bus tickets (advanced reservation) in post offices where the transport organisation has no such facilities, sale of non-judicial stamp papers in Telangana.

October 17

Annamacharya institute bags IBM award.
* Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Science (AITS), Rajampet, was adjudged 15th among the top 50 colleges by the IBM in The Great Mind Challenge conducted annually for honing programming skills among students.
* IBM Academic Director Karthik handed over the Top 50 Colleges Award to AITS principal S.M.V. Narayana at a function in CMR Institute of Technology in Bangalore.

October 22

Bezawada Gopala Reddy Award for Mohan Babu.
* Versatile actor and educationist Mohan Babu received the Dr. Bezawada Gopala Reddy Award from the hands of Tamil Nadu Governor Konijeti Rosaiah at a function organised.
* Recalling the services of Dr. Gopala Reddy as a political stalwart in those days, Mr. Rosaiah said that at a very young age Dr. Reddy had the opportunity to become a minister in the united Madras state and he was not even married at that time. Dr. Gopala Reddy never looked back in his political career and went on to serve as the Governor for the country’s largest state of Uttar Pradesh.

Naidu launches Employees’ Health Scheme.
* Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said the State has a natural advantage for speedy development owing to its long coastal line. By virtue of its natural resources, the State will soon become an export and import hub for the country, he said at the launch of Employees’ Health Scheme.
Benefits of health cards:
* Outlining the benefits of health cards issued under ‘NTR Arogyaseva Trust’, Mr.Naidu said the cards will benefit 22 lakh persons, including 3.9 lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners, together with their families. Outpatient facility is being offered for 25 kinds of ailments, along with 24X7 emergency and call centre support.
